MY STORY

My name is Jazz, I am the food loving girl behind @recipes4health! I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. I played basketball and ran track in high school, then graduated from UC Santa Barbara (go Gauchos). Right out of college, I jumped right into the corporate world and worked for some pretty neat companies like Warner Bros and Toyota.

 

While working full time as a project manager, I also got a degree in Nutritional Therapy. Once I officially realized that my calling was helping individuals feel their best by uniting healthy eating, physical exercise with emotional positivity, I went for it. My husband and I quit our jobs and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to pursue our dreams of working with athletes. I worked for 3 years as a private chef for a few of the Indianapolis Pacers doing in home cooking, private meal prep delivery and nutrition consultation.

In 2019 I was hit by a car while I was biking to the beach. It was a really powerful and life changing moment for me. I truly feel like it was the universe giving me another chance to live my life, in my most authentic way. It has changed me in that I just appreciate little things, I love the birds chirping, sun shining on my skin, watching animals move, hugging trees and thinking about all of the beauty this earth has to offer us.

 

I now live in St Petersburg, Florida doing private meal prep delivery, I teach online cooking classes and online meal prep workshops for all level cooks in the kitchen - from novice cooks, to kids, adults, busy moms and fitness enthusiasts. I teach indoor cycling classes, develop recipes, and love exploring my native Persian cuisine! I have an eCookbook with 35 recipes, all taking less than 30 minutes with less than 10 ingredients, and another one catered towards athletes!

I personally practice food balance and intuitive eating. I genuinely enjoy eating healthy foods but also have the common savory or sweet craving in which I treat myself! You will find my blog filled with simple plant based, vegetarian and pescatarian recipes.
