It's July 30th 2020, the world is in a different place than it was in January of 2020.
As you may know, I am a private chef an NBA Professional athletes on the Pacers. On March 16th 2020, the NBA season took 3 month break while the USA was shut down (or should have been shut down). We moved to Florida during that time just waiting to hear back from the NBA. It was unknown whether it would restart or not.
It was announced in June that the NBA would resume inside the 2020 NBA Bubble. In case you're not familiar with what that is, it is a strict isolation zone for all athletes, coaches and staff to protect from the pandemic. 22 teams were sent to Orlando, Florida to participate in the restart of the NBA season. The Bubble requires isolation periods, continual testing and financial penalties if the rules are not followed.
Why am I telling you all of this? Well, because all of these professional athletes are staying at a hotel, without access to the "outside world." That's where the interesting concept of food comes into play. I got to thinking, while I am not personally cooking for these guys right now, they still need tips and tricks to keep themselves fueled, full, energized and game-ready.
I came up with a simple snack guide. This snack guide includes different non-perishable snacks to have in the hotel room to keep their bodies healthy.
You'll find healthy fats paired with carbohydrates for a quick bedtime snack.
I include savory and sweet treats for those taste buds.
You'll find a list of the cleanest protein bars.
I even provide a few refrigerated snacks in case of a mini fridge.
Lastly, there is a great high protein, low carb snack idea for a post workout.
Many of you reading this are NOT in the NBA bubble but I share this because this document goes for any sort of hotel travel. You can utilize the list below to keep you healthy, fueled, energized and to save money on travel while staying at a hotel.
Make sure to send this to your friends & family, or anyone who travels a bunch!
